This table lamp is based on Poul Henningsen's reflective three-shade system. Thanks to the brass upper shade and the inner reflector in white, it emits a pleasant, direct and directional, glare-free light. The two lower shades made of hand-blown three-layer opal glass have a glossy exterior and a sandblasted, matte inside. Poul Henningsen designed hundreds of luminaires based on the three-shade system he developed in 1926. The system enables unsurpassed lighting quality for every conceivable requirement. One year after its development, Louis Poulsen presented the PH 3/2 together with Poul Henningsen. Many of Henningsen's luminaire designs include a number in the name. This refers to the shade sizes of the respective luminaire. The PH 3/2 is a so-called hybrid size. Its upper shade measures about 30 cm in diameter and is combined with the proportionally smaller lower shades of the PH 2/2. The PH 3/2 was designed not only to create optimal lighting, but also a cosy atmosphere. It is the perfect choice to create, for example, an island of light on a table, a chest of drawers or a windowsill.
